Hersha looks to take leadership position with EarthView program
Hersha Hospitality has a long tradition of social responsibility and community engagement. This tradition began with Hersha’s founders, and continues today with the EarthView® program. In coordination with EarthView, Hersha continuously strengthens its commitment to social growth and development by engaging employees in their local communities, building awareness among customers and stakeholders, and fostering business practices that promote the public good.
“Hasu and Hersha Shah epitomize what it means to be humanitarians. They are living proof that through determination and dedication, newcomers to this country can succeed in extraordinary ways.”
— United Way Tocqueville Society
Most recently, Hersha founders Hasu and Hersha Shah received the United Way’s National Tocqueville Society Award for their humanitarian work. They were recognized for their generosity in helping their Central Pennsylvania community, and helping people across the United States and around the world.
Former recipients of the award include Bob Hope, John Glenn, and presidents Ronald Reagan and Jimmy Carter.
Our properties have similarly embraced the philanthropic spirit, and take pride in their contributions to both local organizations and national not-for-profits. We have challenged each of our properties to coordinate or participate in philanthropic activities throughout the year, and they have all embraced and exceeded our expectations.
