For example, The Independent Hotel, a boutique gem in the burgeoning midtown village neighborhood in Philadelphia is very different than our luxurious hideaway on Capitol Hill, in the very heart of our nation. As part of the Hersha family, the Independent Collection benefits directly from the expertise of the Hersha Capital and Development team. Our development resources are available as consultants on new hotel projects, but function fundamentally as an invaluable sounding board for all properties considered for the Independent Collection. The development team is responsible for some of Hersha’s most acclaimed development projects including Hotel 48LEX New York, (formerly Hyatt 48 Lex), a 2011 ground up construction in midtown Manhattan. Leveraging our team’s expertise, the Independent Collection approaches identity and development in an integrated manner. The physical look and use of these properties speaks directly to the identity of the hotel within the neighborhood, while we stress consistent high quality across the collection.
